Once I get a little more settled in and get some of my other programming up and going, I'm going to turn my focus to outreach and try to get in touch with school librarians or teachers to find out what kind of support they really need. I sure miss doing class visits!Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13857185361354967198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2270551723544134519.post-91702509785294704012020-11-04T14:36:36.054-05:002020-11-04T14:36:36.054-05:00I do a lot of online science, Virtual Science Lab,...I do a lot of online science, Virtual Science Lab, which is a less than 10-minute FB live video of me doing an experiment each week, plus a weekly science class through Google Classrooms, where I have more content; each week has a topic, and I have an intro to the topic, with links to more information and then 2-3 experiments related to the topic, with how-to videos and instructions. People are loving both! I also do outreach storytimes via Zoom to some of my regular outreach sites, and occasionally virtual class visits.
I totally sympathize with you about how hard starting full-time work is, especially after a long break. Good luck, and just remember that you can do this!Pollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17889429890904874130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2270551723544134519.post-3319201997133868872020-11-03T14:22:50.874-05:002020-11-03T14:22:50.874-05:00I did an ebook training (how to use Libby) for 3rd...I did an ebook training (how to use Libby) for 3rd graders at one of our elementary schools. The kids have chromebooks they use in school, so they were able to follow along with me as I shared my screen. I sent dummy library cards to the media specialist for the kids to use as well as a form for them to get library cards. It was so nice to be able to offer the schools something.

Best of luck in your new job.
Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03378930260815113619noreply@blogger.com
