I have developed basic storytime plans that I have found work for me and my audiences. Each age group has different developmental needs and abilities, so storytimes for different age groups are a bit different. I have also found that I had to make some changes once I returned to in-person storytimes after the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020-2022. I have extensive experience with preschool storytimes, both in-library and outreach, and now regularly do toddler storytimes as well. While I have subbed for baby storytime once or twice, I have yet to have a regular baby storytime, though I'd like to!
Keep in mind that these plans are just a guideline. They work for me, but may not work for you. I don't necessarily follow them exactly every time, either. I generally adjust to the group I get at any given time, and may sometimes skip things, add things, or do things in a different order as needed. Click on the links below for the desired plan:
